Look … it’s 2020. Well, almost.

And the funny thing is that the last time I wrote anything here was one the even of 2019. So what have I achieved in that time? Quite frankly, I am so over that phrase or trend of thought. Of course, one achieves things in a year. You can’t fail for 365 days. But you could not succeed enough. Or not believe enough. In yourself. Life. Whatever. But you’re here, reading this. So I guess like me, you’re still trying. Well 2020 is blaring at me like a Carnival music big truck and it is going to be a year of clarity, vision, balance, success and more.

I have a clear plan as to what I am going to start writing here and that’s mainly inspired by my return to journalism and more specifically, the Newsday. Certainly challenging getting back into the routine of writing with deadlines looming. I’d be honest, I’m not doing to well at it. And maybe it’s because I know I have my own platform that I could be writing for. Now this is in no way the same as the Newsday, but it’s my place, to write about what I think matters.

I still want to write for the Newsday as I love telling stories of brands and entrepreneurs. Have a look and some of the stories I told at the Newsday here. Now what do I want to do here. Pretty much the same thing but with a twist. And I want to partner with companies to reinvent the advertorial. There are so many ways that I can work with brands to tell their stories. There is so much innovation happening in Trinidad and Tobago. And in every industry.

So I want to use this platform to tell the stories of the brands and people that interest me, right here. Who do I have up my sleeve? My first will be with the Digicel team including their CEO, Jabbor Kayumov, who is from Russia and moved here with his wife and three children to lead the telecoms operator here on our shores. I am always so inspired when we have a chat. Read the story from our first meeting here.

I’ll be chatting with Jabbor and members of his management team on the telecoms landscape here in T&T and how all this new innovation is really going to roll out and affect us, the consumers. Stay tuned for the full score on that.

I also got a new pair of glasses from my long-term brand bestie, Look Opticians, so I’m pretty chuffed! Who doesn’t like a new pair off specs? Thing is my eyes are 40% worse than they were two years ago and I am now looking at the screen typing this through my first pair of progressive lenses. What are progressive lenses?

I think I need to write a proper post on this tomorrow. Time to rest this brain of mine. Ok maybe it’s after one in the morning and I’m in a TTRide Share heading back home after a munchie run. And I just had to write something here. So here’s a short note to say, the blog is back!
