DISCOVER JAD JEWELLERS

Meet JAD Jewellery. Established in 2010,

JAD jewellery is a family owned business with JAD standing for Joseph, David and Alissa.

JAD offers gold-filled jewelry that lasts for many years and is of good quality. It is made up of 18kt gold plating. Co-owner Alissa explains, “Our factory takes pride in surpassing industry standards by applying a new anti-tarnish technology to all of our pieces.”

Jewellery care is also important Alissa explains.

“We recommend that your Gold-Filled be washed periodically with liquid-soap and water. It is made up of superior quality and much more affordable. We’ve got Gold Filled Hoops, Bracelets, Chains Sets, Long Earing, Stoppers, Hand Bands, and Anklets.

JAD has two locations. Shops of Arima, Tumpuna Road, Arima and Long Circular Mall, Ground floor kiosk outside the food court.

Online Sales is also facilitated via the brand’s email: jadsjewllery@gmail.com

When it comes to what inspired the creation of this brand, Alissa tells us the story.

“As a young girl jewellery was always my passion. I went to New York City one year and it was a dream of mine to open one of those jewellery establishments. And that she did.

Since the birth of the brand, Alissa admits that there have been many milestones.

“We were able to open two locations especially during the pandemic and we are looking to open another location once the opportunity arises.

Alissa agrees there have been many milestones along the way for the brand and its team.

“One major lesson is learning how to manage your finances especially during the lockdown as well as managing staff.”

Alissa also has advice for those out there who may want to begin their journey as an entrepreneur.

“One piece of advice I can give to new entrepreneurs is that having a business is not as glamorous as it may look on the outside. You have to sacrifice your time, energy and sometimes your social life in order to be successful and build a brand.”

For Alissa, the definition of a brand is “the image you create for to your customers” and this is definitely a priority at JAD.

“As a sales person have to believe in the product you are selling”.

Alissa says there is a difference between a business and a brand.

“The difference between a business and a brand is that a business is an organization that produces your products or offers services whereas a brand is your identity, what makes your products unique from the other competitors.”

When it comes to the local brand community, Alissa has some thoughts.

“My thoughts on the local brand community here in Trinidad and Tobago is that it is competitive but easy. Our target market style is simple yet unique with a touch of elegance.”
