Beyond Paint, a registered Limited business, started as a painting service provider but eventually grew to offer other services such as gypsum, tiling, masonry, roofing repairs, and more. The company’s aim is to provide a One Stop Shop Service for all your Renovations & Property Maintenance needs.

Beyond Paint’s founder, Dwayne Ifill, has always been passionate about interior design and working with colors, started as Colour Solutions, offering bedroom and interior work for friends and family. But when it was time to register the business, the name Colour Solutions wasn’t available, and so Dwayne came up with the name Beyond Paint, which has now become the company’s identity, despite starting out as a paint service provider.

Making the switch from a full-time job in the oilfield industry to focus solely on Beyond Paint was not an easy decision for Dwayne. The transition came with its own set of challenges, including managing the business while working offshore and for a demanding oilfield service provider. But with a good team to execute jobs, Dwayne was able to provide professional services to clients and grow the business.

His passion for interior design led him to take an interior design short course to improve his knowledge and skills. This, in turn, helped him to understand colours, colour schemes, where & how to use in spaces and more. He was able to grow the business from scratch to being recognized as a painting contractor that provides services not only to residential clients but also to commercial and corporate companies.

The road to success was not easy, and Dwayne had to face various challenges along the way. However, the key was to stay focused and keep moving forward, taking risks and being professional. As the he puts it, “Don’t be afraid to take risks. Whatever you decide to venture into, take it seriously and be professional.”

As the company grew, Dwayne realized the importance of branding. A brand is the personality of a business, what it means to people, its reputation, its characteristics, and what it’s known for. Beyond Paint is not just a painting service provider, but a company that aims to provide a One Stop Shop Service Provider for all your home needs.

Finally, Dwayne also shared their thoughts on the business scene in Trinidad. According to him, the country has a great potential that is sometimes marred by problem bad customer service, not dealing with negative reviews, and inconsistency when it comes to some brands. All in all, he sees a lot of potential for the local SME market and he is proud to be a part of that community.
