The Power of Passion

Meet Blitz BBQ. In 2017, the story of Blitz BBQ began when two strangers, brought together by an EMT course, kindled a relationship that would change their lives forever. The woman revealed her passion for cooking BBQ, having started small at the age of 17. In a bid to support her and impress her, the man offered to work the BBQ pit and handle deliveries, drawing from his food experience gained from his mother, a seasoned veteran in the food industry.

Fast forward to 2018, the couple started hosting BBQs on their parents’ porch, initially by order only. With time, their clientele swelled from 30 to 150 orders, driven by rave reviews about their delicious and high-quality food. In mid-2019, they experimented with a Burger & Beers event, but it couldn’t match the success of their BBQs.

Then came 2020, the year of the pandemic, and BBQs were put on hold. In 2021, as restrictions eased, they resumed their quarterly BBQ sales. In 2022, they took a bold step, conducting a survey that revealed overwhelming demand for daily BBQ sales. With resounding support from their clients, Blitz BBQ was born, and they rented a location to launch their brand.

The name Blitz BBQ was born from a moment of inspiration, combining “fast-food,” “barbecue,” and an affinity for alliteration.

Running a family business amidst university studies, a full-time job, and parenthood was no easy feat. Resilience in the face of a hectic schedule became crucial.

Their inspiration stemmed from customer reviews and the realization that the pandemic had left many jobless. They saw an opportunity to provide employment and delicious food.

A significant milestone was expanding their customer base in a new location, devoid of family or friends. It was a testament to faith, quality, and service.

Entrepreneurship is demanding, but for those with an entrepreneurial spirit, it becomes second nature.

For aspiring entrepreneurs, the infancy stage is akin to nurturing a newborn. Marketing and advertising are the vitamins that strengthen the business, and cash flow is its immunity against insolvency.

A brand is a symbol that triggers a desire or need, a reminder of something valuable.

While selling products and making money are fundamental, branding creates connections, fosters loyalty, and builds recognition. Emphasis on branding in the local scene has grown with the advent of social media.

In the end, Blitz BBQ’s journey showcases the power of passion, persistence, and a strong brand in the world of entrepreneurship.
