AthElite is a multi-faceted brand that encompasses Express Massage and Sport Therapy, a service-based business offering premium mobile and on-site massages to a wide variety of clients across diverse settings. Whether catering to corporate offices, luxury hotels, Airbnbs, pop-up shops, government retreat events, or sports and amateur to semi-professional athletic clubs, AthElite ensures its services meet the highest standards. Equipped with state-of-the-art massage tools, including massage guns and foot massagers, and staffed by qualified massage therapists, the brand delivers effective, tailored treatments wherever they’re needed.

In addition to Express Massage and Sport Therapy, AthElite has expanded its offerings with MotionNest Wellness, a new venture aimed at providing personalized at-home training and mobility work. MotionNest Wellness targets busy individuals and elderly clients, focusing on making wellness more accessible to those with hectic lifestyles or age-related mobility concerns.

The name “AthElite” was born from the founder’s own athletic background. Having spent his teenage years pushing his physical limits and exploring the boundaries of athletic performance, the founder drew inspiration from both his experience and the needs of his target market. While the business serves a wide range of clients, including non-athletes and corporate individuals, the name reflects the high-quality service provided and the sophisticated nature of the clientele, which includes business executives, expats, travelers, and athletes.

Though the business is now run full-time, the journey to entrepreneurship was not an easy one. The founder left behind a promising career offshore as a marine expat to pursue his passion for wellness and self-employment. The transition was challenging, but the fulfillment of being his own boss outweighs the taxing demands of running the business.

The inspiration for starting the business came from the founder’s time spent in both corporate environments and on sports fields, where physical strain was a common thread. Observing this, he felt compelled to create a mobile, modern, and efficient solution for massage and athletic therapies to help address these issues.

Several milestones have marked the growth of AthElite. Among them are securing contracts with significant organizations like the Tobago House of Assembly and UdeCOTT, collaborating with top-tier luxury hotels and guest houses in Tobago, receiving business mentorship from NEDCO, and opening the first Express Massage storefront in Gulf City Mall.

One crucial lesson learned on the entrepreneurial journey is that business is not solely about making money; it’s about providing value to people. The founder believes that people work hard for their money, and in order to earn it, a business must offer a service that is not just necessary but provides value that exceeds the cost.

For aspiring entrepreneurs, the founder offers this advice: If your goal is to be financially free, have more time for yourself, and avoid answering to others, entrepreneurship may not be the right path. Building a business is a selfless, sacrificial commitment. It’s 90% hard work, 8% rest, and 2% reward.
The founder defines a brand as a trigger that invokes recognition through visual, auditory, or olfactory cues, compelling customers to seek out a product or service. A brand is what stirs desire, whereas a business delivers on that desire. The distinction between the two is clear: the brand entices, and the business fulfills.
Though not deeply engaged with the local brand community in Trinidad and Tobago, the founder refrains from offering an opinion, citing a sense of disenchantment with some of the brands he has encountered. He focuses instead on the business he is building and the unique value it brings to its clients.

AthElite actively participates in workshops and pop-up events, providing educational opportunities in the wellness space. This year, the brand has hosted and will continue to host several events, including a couples massage event in February and a series of sports massage workshops in collaboration with the Light and Bodywork Institute in March, June, and October.
Through these initiatives and a steadfast commitment to excellence, AthElite continues to grow, providing high-quality services that prioritize client well-being and the pursuit of a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
