Triquetra Martial Arts: Embracing Tradition and Holistic Development through ITF Taekwon-Do

Triquetra Martial Arts, led by a certified 3rd Degree Blackbelt licensed to teach Authentic Taekwon-Do by the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF), embodies a commitment to excellence and holistic growth. Rooted in the rich heritage of Taekwon-Do, our dojang stands as a beacon of tradition and innovation.

The triquetra symbol, derived from Norse mythology, serves as our namesake and guiding ethos. Representing interconnectedness, eternity, and the cyclical nature of life, it encapsulates our dedication to fostering unity of mind, body, and soul. At Triquetra Martial Arts, we transcend mere physical training, striving to cultivate personal growth and mental well-being in our students.

Our journey began in 2009, beginning with Sabum Rampair and Bu-Sabum Lue (2nd Dan) from Jamaica, whose influence served as our initial inspiration, and continuing through the guidance of Sabum Bissoon (4th Dan) and Sabum Waithe (4th Dan), our journey in Taekwon-Do has been enriched by their expertise and dedication. Sabum Waithe, in particular, has been instrumental in shaping our teaching methodology, imparting knowledge and techniques with precision and care. Sabum Rampair’s dual role as a Civil Engineer and martial artist, our founder pursued academic endeavors, earning a Diploma in Civil Engineering in 2014. Despite a brief hiatus from academic pursuits, the lessons learned fueled a passion for teaching Taekwon-Do, culminating in the establishment of Triquetra Martial Arts in 2018.

From humble beginnings beneath a friend’s shed in Bamboo #2, our dojang’s evolution has been marked by resilience and adaptability. The challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic prompted a transition to virtual classes via Zoom in 2020, laying the groundwork for innovative approaches to instruction. In July 2022, live classes resumed at our home studio, setting the stage for future expansion and community outreach initiatives.

As we navigate the complexities of life and business, our founder’s reflections underscore the importance of patience and authenticity. Triquetra Martial Arts serves not only as a symbol of personal identity but also as a conduit for societal contribution and positive change. In an era marked by conformity and imitation, our commitment to creativity and originality sets us apart.

Looking ahead, Triquetra Martial Arts is poised to engage with the community through choreographed demonstrations and pop-up events, fostering connections and inspiring future generations of martial artists. As we embrace the journey ahead, our dedication to tradition, innovation, and personal growth remains unwavering.
