FIELD OF DREAMS PRESENTS PARANG ON DE GREENS

A Christmas Tradition Finds Its Home in Point Fortin

There is something magical about December in Trinidad. The air shifts. The rhythm changes. There is a collective softening as the country leans into its most nostalgic season. At Clifton Hill in Point Fortin, that magic swells in the most unexpected of places. A venue that carries a bold silhouette and an even bolder purpose. Field of Dreams.

Known across the southland as a hub for sport and community, Field of Dreams has become more than a place where footballers lace up and chase glory. It has grown into a space where families gather, where neighbourhoods meet and where culture thrives. This Christmas, the venue continues its tradition of bringing people together with its beloved annual celebration. Parang on de Greens.

The name alone feels like a warm invitation. Parang on de Greens is that kind of event that pulls you in before you even step onto the grass. It is festive and familiar and deeply rooted in everything we love about a Trini Christmas. From the music to the laughter to the scent of food drifting through the air, it is an experience designed to lift your spirit and remind you of why the season matters.

This year’s edition brings three weekends of performances. Sancouche on December 6th. Levantamientos and Roger Allen on December 13th. BB Serenaders on December 20th. Each group representing a different flavour in our parang universe. Strings. Cuatro. Voices that carry stories of tradition and joy. The kind of music that settles into your memory and lingers long after the last note.

What makes Parang on de Greens even more special is how intentionally it caters to families. Before each show the field comes alive from 4pm to 8pm with a pre event that is free for kids 12 and under. A bouncy castle. Games. Space to run. Space to laugh. Space for parents to exhale. It is rare that an event balances culture and community with such ease but Field of Dreams has always understood its role. It is a venue built for belonging.

As the sun sets and the lights come up the night shifts into performance mode. Eats and drinks flow. The atmosphere thickens with anticipation. People greet each other like long lost cousins. Someone always sees a familiar face they did not expect. It is the kind of place where Point Fortin pride shows up fully. Where the southland decorates itself with music and stands tall knowing that Christmas does not need massive stages or glittering arenas to shine. It only needs heart.

And that is exactly what Field of Dreams brings. Heart. A willingness to transform a football ground into a cultural sanctuary. A vision to give people a place to celebrate safely and joyfully. A commitment to keeping traditions alive in a way that feels fresh yet deeply rooted.

Parang on de Greens is more than an event. It is a reminder of who we are. A reminder that community is our greatest currency. A reminder that culture lives wherever we choose to honour it.

This December all roads lead to Field of Dreams. The music is set. The performers are ready. The greens are waiting. Christmas in Point Fortin has found its rhythm and it is calling you home.
