Most people met her as one half of a conversation. Jus’ Gin is about to show us what happens when Ginevra Guevara-Aquing has the freedom to follow her own voice, tell her own stories and build something that belongs entirely to her.
Besties, you know I am all about a girlie who knows what she wants and is not afraid to go after it, even when going after it means going alone. I also believe women should be supported while they are still building, not only applauded after everything has become polished, profitable and popular enough for everyone to claim they always believed.

That belief is part of what my new brand, BESTIES means to me. Yes, BESTIES will create beautiful afternoons where women can dress up, enjoy lovely things and allow themselves to be looked after, but it must also live beyond the experiences I create. It should create room on TTChatterbox for me to formally and consistently introduce you to women I believe deserve to be seen, supported and celebrated while they are still becoming.
Ginevra Guevara-Aquing is one of those women. And I’m honoured for her to be my first Besties’ feature.
Most people know her as Gin, one half of the Gin and Shan Podcast. We watched the banter, followed the conversations, chose sides and returned to hear what they would say next. And boy did they say the things. The partnership introduced audiences to two women who could take an ordinary situation, reason it out from completely different perspectives and turn it into the kind of conversation everyone wanted to enter.
But a partnership can introduce a woman to an audience without defining everything she is capable of becoming. And that sometimes impede the growth of women with the true potential to create a community online based on who they are and the tribe they attract. Sometimes you have to do things without your bestie and that is exactly what Gin is about to do and I am here for it. I hope you are too, besties!
She has called it a new season with a smaller cast but Jus’ Gin is not simply a reduced version of what existed before. It is not less of the previous brand.
It is just more of her. Her views. Her pace. Her rules.

Jus’ Gin gives Ginevra the freedom to follow her own curiosity, tell more of her own stories and build a platform around the things she finds funny, frustrating, interesting or worth discussing. It gives us the opportunity to discover the woman we were only able to know within one particular dynamic that suffererd due to many external controls. But the past is sooooooo boring. So let’s talk about what’s coming.
The exciting part of all of this for me, is that Gin does not have to become somebody new for this to work. She does not need a manufactured personality, a dramatic reinvention or a perfectly polished version of herself created for social media. What she needs is the space to allow more of who she already is to come through.
Gin describes herself as a whimsical comedian and the description fits. She is naturally funny without needing every moment to feel like a performance. She can tell a story, ask the question everyone else has been avoiding and make a serious point without turning the conversation into a sermon. She has the ability to make people feel as though they are sitting in the room with her, reasoning through life one questionable decision at a time.
Her appeal is not based on pretending she has figured everything out. She is living through it with the rest of us and she is willing to talk about it.
At our big age, that honesty is super refreshing.
Women are navigating relationships, friendships, careers, confidence, ageing and the complicated process of deciding what we still want from our lives. We are taking care of people while trying to remember that our own lives deserve attention too. We want to dress up, eat well, visit beautiful places and romanticise our lives, but we also need women who can keep it real when reality refuses to match the mood board.
Gin can live comfortably in both worlds.
She can enjoy the outfit and still tell you what happened while she was wearing it. She can visit the restaurant and give you the story from the table. She can enter a conversation about relationships without pretending every woman is right or every man is wrong. She can make us laugh at ourselves without making us feel foolish for still trying to figure things out.
That is the voice I believe Jus’ Gin can own.

The conversations people already enjoy hearing Gin discuss will remain part of her world. Relationships, social behaviour and the questions that make everyone choose a side are natural territory for her. Jus’ Gin will also create room for audiences to experience Ginevra beyond the debate.
We will see what she wears, where she goes, what she enjoys and what catches her attention. We will hear her stories, meet people she finds interesting and watch her bring humour to conversations about culture and the ordinary experiences that connect us. We will see her outside enjoying Trinidad and Tobago, discovering new places and finding the moments worth sharing.
The audience may initially arrive because Gin has something to say, but they will stay because they become invested in Ginevra.
That distinction matters because a personality cannot be built entirely around opinions. People must eventually care about the person having them. Jus’ Gin will build that relationship by allowing audiences to see a complete woman rather than a character permanently waiting for the next argument.
I can already see Gin creating the kinds of moments people want to discuss long after the video ends. I can see her at a beautiful restaurant giving us the honest version of the experience. I can see her getting dressed for an event, meeting people, travelling, trying something new and turning whatever happens into a story. I can see her sitting across from an interesting guest, holding a room or asking a question that takes the entire conversation somewhere unexpected.
None of it will work if she is forced to become a generic lifestyle personality. Gin’s value is in remaining recognisably Gin while giving us access to more of Ginevra.
She is not here to tell women how to live. She is here to live, observe, question and laugh alongside us. That makes her relatable without making her ordinary and aspirational without requiring her to pretend life is perfect.
People are part of the things I love too. I love women who are funny, honest and willing to begin again. I love a woman who understands that choosing herself does not erase what came before and that starting over does not mean starting from nothing. Because I too have been shunned, dumped, ghosted, misunderstood and lied about. And still, we rise.
Gin already has the experience, the personality and the stories. Jus’ Gin is where we get to discover what she can build when she has the freedom to follow her own voice.
So I am not introducing her because I want us to feel sorry for her or spend our time wondering what happened. I am introducing her because I believe she is someone my besties (which is YOU) will genuinely enjoy getting to know. She is funny enough to entertain us, honest enough to challenge us and grown enough to know that sometimes the most exciting thing a woman can do is choose a new direction and see where it takes her.
Follow @ginguevara_ and pull up a chair. Gin has plenty to say, plenty to show us and an entirely new chapter waiting to unfold. And if I’m curious with popcorn in hand, then you should be too.
Gin is the woman you recognise. Ginevra is the bestie you are about to love.
